Our Story
Welcome to Vogeljäger Gun Dogs! We are a Texas based breeder specializing in the highest quality, versatile German Shorthair Pointers. Currently the hill country is our home but we do travel frequently to the panhandle occasionally out of state. We try to expose our dogs to as many different species of birds and hunting terrain as we can. All of our puppies are raised in a family environment and receive daily socialization. Our goal is to produce driven, intelligent, and biddable hunting dogs that will be great home companions as well. We are passionate about our dogs and take pride in knowing that we are doing our part to ensure that this breed continues to thrive.
Our Dogs
When it comes to our breeding dogs, we don't take shortcuts or accept imperfections. All of our dogs undergo a thorough evaluation process from pup to adult to ensure that they meet the highest standards of health, temperament, and breed characteristics. We are committed to producing the best possible dogs for our customers, and we stand behind every one of our puppies. We want a high drive, cooperative, and versatile hunting partner in the field that can also be an enjoyable, calm dog in the house.
All of our dogs that are breeding will undergo OFA evaluation for hips, elbows, cardiac, and eyes. This ensures we are breeding healthy dogs that are capable of performing their roles. We also perform genetic testing any potential breeding candidates to make sure they are not carriers of any genetic diseases that may affect the breed.
